- What is the mission of Holy Trinity School?
- Holy Trinity Catholic School is a Christ-centered Catholic community where faith and learning are lived and celebrated daily through Gospel values and academic excellence.
- Do we have to be Catholic to attend the school?
- No, but your children will receive Catholic religious education as part of the curriculum.
- What grades attend Holy Trinity School?
- Early Childhood Education: Preschool (3-4 year olds) & Kindergarten Readiness (4 by September 1)
- Kindergarten through Sixth Grade
- What is the average class size?
- The average class size is 13-24.
- How is the school staffed?
- There are full-time licensed teachers in each classroom along with specialists in Physical Education, Music and Media.
- Preschool and Kindergarten teachers are licensed in Early Childhood Education.
- Special Education, Title 1, and Speech services are available.
- Support staff includes paraprofessionals, secretary, bookkeeper, custodian and hot lunch personnel.
- How is religion integrated into the day/week/year?
- Religion is taught as a subject (like reading or math) throughout the year.
- Students, grades K-6, attend liturgy once per week. Each class takes turns being the liturgy leaders. Students become confident readers and presenters in public.
- The church liturgical seasons are celebrated throughout the year: Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter.
- The sacraments are included in the curriculum.
- What are the curriculum expectations?
- Curriculum maps are written for each curriculum subject. The maps include standards (MN State standards are used as a basis), benchmarks, concepts/skills, assessment and resources.
- Core instructional areas: reading, math, religion, science and social studies.
- Each week students receive instruction in art, physical education, music, computer and library.
- 5/6 grade students can participate in the district band program.
- What technology is available for instruction and for students?
- The school has up-to-date technology, including Chromebooks, iPads, computer lab, classroom computers, interactive projectors and Internet access: hardwired and wireless.
- Students receive 60-80 minutes of computer instruction each week.
- Students use an Internet based program to support reading: Accelerated Reading-AR. Students read a book and take a comprehension test on the book. Students are assigned an AR goal each quarter.
- What evidence does the school have to prove that students perform well academically?
- On average, students perform three to six months ahead of children their same age on national achievement tests.
- Student academic progress is measured three times a year using a comprehensive assessment tool, Northwest Evaluation Association Measures of Academic Progress (MAPS) and Fast Bridge Testing
- On average, 81% of Holy Trinity high school alumni students are on the A and B Honor Roll.
- In what ways can parents get involved at Holy Trinity Catholic School?
- Parental involvement is encouraged. In the fall parents receive a volunteer form to complete and return to school. The volunteer opportunities include classroom, office, library, special projects, supervision along with many other activities.
- PTO is our parent organization. The goals of the PTO are to provide opportunities for parents to be involved and to support school activities with a few fundraising events.
- What after school activities can students from the Catholic school participate in?
- Students can participate in all activities sponsored by the public school and community services. Registration information comes home through the school office.
- Is there a hot lunch program?
- Yes, the lunch program follows the guidelines of the National Hot Lunch program. Parents are able to apply for free or reduced lunch prices. Lunch is served in the St. Joseph Church basement.
- How do the children get to school and is there a cost?
- The district provides free busing grades Kindergarten Readiness-12th.
