SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT REPORT
Standard 1 – Mission statement
*The mission statement was reviewed by the School Board and Staff.  It was used on all school communications and for marketing.
*A three year plan for staff development in catholic identity and faith formation is in the process of being developed.
Standard 2 – Curriculum and Instruction
*The hard wiring of the office and first floor classrooms networking took place in the summer of 2007.  The hard wiring of third floor will take place the summer of 2008.
*Various companies were contacted that would bring the library into an automated system.  The automation process will take place during the 2008-2009 school year.  A budget was developed for the purchase of library books.
*An ongoing staff development plan was put into place with emphasis on improving instruction and focusing on curriculum.
*Curriculum mapping was used with the study of the art and social studies curriculum.
*A seven year curriculum evaluation timeline was developed and placed in the curriculum handbook.
Standard 3 – Learner Performance
*Teachers wrote performance assessments and rubrics for the revised Science curriculum
Standard 4 – School Climate and Facilities
*Improved school climate by focusing on:
1.  Positive communication to public
2.  Relationships with parents
3.  Discipline
4. Positive communication within the school building
5.  Confidentiality
*Providing written communication through weekly bulletins, newsletter and minutes from meetings to staff.
*Provide open door policy to talk to the principal.
*Attach a form to the student / parent handbook for parents to sign that they read the handbook.
Standard 5 – Community Relations
*Began building an alumni list.
*Began building a marketing plan and calendar to market the school.
*Provided orientation to new staff members.
*Provided orientation for new school board members.
*Implemented an aftercare and summercare program for the children of school age attending Holy Trinity School and the surrounding communities.
*Provided information about the school in the Pierz Welcome Wagon basket.
*Strengthened the staff and student commitment to social justice by visiting local nursing homes, assisted living facilities, collecting for the food shelf and the “Giving Tree”.
Standard 6 – Personnel
*Developed a budget for a professional development plan.
Standard 7 – Leadership and Governance
*Formed a playground committee, which designed and is raising funds to put in place a new playground.  Eleven grants were written for the project.
*Used resources to create a projected enrollment.
*Implemented a professional staff salary schedule that includes lane changes.
*Presented academic and financial information to stakeholders through a presentation in February2008.

GREETINGS FROM MRS. M & M:
Wow!  It doesn’t seem possible that this is the last newsletter for the 2007-2008 school year.   It seems like just yesterday that the students arrived and I started to learn student names.  Overall, it has been a great year.  I give thanks for each child and the wonderful school community, Holy Trinity.  Blessings on a safe and family time summer.

MEMORY BOOKS
Order forms went home for memory books (Yearbooks).  Please return the order form by Thursday, May 29th.  The books are ordered in June and will be here for the students in the Fall.  If you need a new form, call the office or send $10 for each book along with your child’s name.

LABELS
Please send any labels you have saved to school.  Please continue to save them during the summer months.  Pierz Foods receipts program has expired for this school year.  Thank you for helping us out.  Watch for Fall information on new programs
